Our client is amongst the world leaders in developing and manufacturing industrial robots designed for executing heavy duty and complex tasks in aggressive industrial environments.

He is looking for an experienced Mechatronics Design Engineer to join his recently opened Engineering Center of Excellence in Belgium; he will be in charge of conception, design, testing and commissioning of robotic equipment.

An open-ended (ODC/CDI) employment contract is proposed together with an attractive compensation package (including company car) and exciting career perspectives.

Main activities include

  • Responsible of mechanical, hydraulic and other media design work:
    • Model/simulate robot trajectories and functions (Creo and Kuka sim tools)
    • Develop robot devices (tools, racks,…)
    • Validate load and reach of the robot, and define loads acceptable by the supporting structures
    • Consider manufacturing cost parameters in the design.Organize and follow-up draftmen works (home and remote sites)
    • Check and get official release of drawings for manufacturing.
  • Validate the robot and its devices design during shop tests
  • Provide technical support to Operations and Suppliers during the manufacturing process
  • Update Design Rules and integrate Group’s best practices
  • Report product design progresses and technical issues/improvements to the Project Manager.
  • Maintain/update technical documentation.

Required Profile

  • Electro-mechanical or Automation Engineering degree
  • Experience in Mechanical and Hydraulic design (conception, calculation, material selection, detail engineering design, manufacturing methods)
  • Multidisciplinary field experience (hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, valves,…)
  • Familiar with CAD, FEA and SIM tools (ideally Kuka, Creo)
  • Leadership, autonomy and initiatives
  • Fluent English
  • Flexible (25% travel mainly Americas & Europe)
