Our client is amongst the world leaders in developing and manufacturing molten steel flow control devices, tools and robotic systems.Refractory materials are essential for their protection.

He is looking for an experienced Mechanical/Mechatroncics Design Engineer to join his Engineering Center  in Belgium; he will be in charge of mechanical/mechatronics conception, design, testing and commissioning of Flow Control Equipment.

An open-ended (ODC/CDI) employment contract is proposed together with an attractive compensation package (including company car) and exciting career perspectives.

    Main activities include

    • Responsible of mechanical/mechatronics design work:
      • Model/simulate robot pre-trajectories and functions (Creo and Kuka sim tools)
      • Develop & design customized devices (tools, racks, arms, armoured cover…)
      • Validate load and reach of the robot, and define loads acceptable by the supporting structures
      • Consider assembling cost parameters in the design.
      • Organize and follow-up draftmen works.
      • Check and get official release of drawings.
    • Validate the robot and its devices design during shop tests
    • Provide technical support to local assembly Operations and to Suppliers
    • Update Design Rules and integrate Group’s best practices
    • Report product design progresses and technical issues/improvements to the Project Manager.
    • Maintain/update technical documentation.

    Required Profile

    • Electro-mechanical Engineering degree
    • Experience in Mechanical design (conception, calculation, material selection, detail engineering design)
    • Some familiarity with other engineering domains (e.g.hydraulics, pneumatics, actuators,…)
    • Familiar with CAD, FEA and SIM tools (ideally Kukasim, Creo)
    • Autonomy and initiatives
    • Fluent English
    • Flexible (max 20% travel)
